[40K] The Bolter and Chainsword: Legio Marine

One of the biggest constants in my hobby life has been a discussion forum known as The Bolter and Chainsword. Initially created in the very late 90’s as a place to discuss all things Space Marines in a friendly and constructive environment, the board now caters for all things 40K, 30K and many of the specialist games released by Games Workshop. I’ve had the privilege of membership at the B&C for over 20 years now and the honour of acting a board Moderator for a good chunk of that time.

A recent (major) upgrade of the site has taken place and to celebrate, we decided to bring back an old event related to painting Adeptus Astartes of the Legio Bolter & Chainsword. I won’t belabor the details here, but for anyone interested in the background, you can find it here: =][= B&C REFORGED CONTEST =][=.

At any rate, I rolled up my sleeves and actually managed to get an miniature finished in time to submit to the event! So without further ado, I present Brother Ranulf of the Legio Bolter and Chainsword:

The fire effect using pigments was a first attempt for me, and I think I may have overdone it, but it’s definitely something I’ll continue to explore in future miniatures.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
